Feroot is thrilled to partner and sponsor Citizen Hacks — a privacy-themed hackathon funded by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. The hackathon will take place in Toronto on September 6,7 and 8 of 2019 and feature keynote speaker Dr. Ann Cavoukian, leader of the Privacy by Design Centre at Ryerson University and Ian Goldberg, the Canadian Research Chair in Privacy Enhancing Technologies.
The hackathon is organized by a group of university students who see themselves not only as users of technology, but also as digital citizens who play an active role in writing the future of technology. Making website security and privacy an integral part of their product design thinking is core to their goal.
Organizers of Citizens Hack (Left to Right): Marcel O'Neil, Benn McGregor and Mio Yamanaka
Citizen Hacks is expecting 175 attendees to participate in the event, which will take place at the Centre for Social Innovation in the Annex, Toronto.
Feroot is a proud partner of this event. Our co-founder and CEO, Ivan Tsarynny, will be speaking at the opening ceremonies on Friday evening, September 6th and will lead a workshop on “Problem-Product Market Fit - How to build a Product for a Scalable Business”.
Ivan will also be joining Dr. Ann Cavoukian on the AI, Privacy, Startups panel on Saturday, September 7th at 3:00 PM (exact timing TBC). And Feroot’s co-founder and CTO, Vitaliy Lim, will be a distinguished judge for the final display of products on Sunday, September 8th.
